We are Steph and Angie - sisters who love to scrapbook. We don't know design, we aren't color experts and we usually only get to scrapbook a few times a year. But, we love our families and scrapbooking our memories with them so here we are!

We'll try not to bog you down with long supply lists and explanations (half the time we can't remember what we used or it's such old stuff that you'd never find it anywhere anyway!)

Please feel free to "scrap-lift" any of our ideas that strike your fancy, and if you are a scrapbooker with your own blog, please link back to us!

Basketball Door Signs

For several years the big finale of my kids' basketball season has been a weekend long tourney in a bigger town about 75 miles from us.  It is a blast because we stay in a hotel with the rest of the players and their families.  The games are fun but the kids and parents are all about the pool, dining out, shopping, hanging out and having fun together and of course some adult beverages (not the kids on that one of course!)  Someone in the group has always made signs for the players doors in the hotel and this year that task fell to me.  I was of course making them last minute so I was glad there are only 7 players on the team!  You wouldn't think a bunch of 7th grade boys would care much about something like that but they were pretty thrilled with them and Caden even hung them all up and said having them made them feel important so I am glad I made them.  Here they are with a close up of Caden's.
And here is Caden's 7th grade team- he is the 2nd one from the right in the back

21" of Snow

Living in snowy Northern Minnesota, I have plenty of opportunities to scrap snow pages. This year my chance came early when we had almost two feet of snow the weekend before Thanksgiving. I had recently scored some Simple Stories Winter Wonderland collection pieces from scrapbook.steals.com and was itching to use the beautiful stuff!

For Bekah's page, I started with a background paper that I loved except for the fact that it sprinkled flowers among the pinecones and snowflakes in the bottom corner. I solved that by ripping a corner of the birch print paper and layering it over, leaving just a few snowflakes, pinecones and spring still peeking out.

I used the rest of that piece of birch print paper for Scott's page, layering it over a striped piece from a DCWV stack.
On both Bekah and Scott's pages, I used a wooden snowflake printed wood slice found recently in the Target Dollar Spot. They coordinated perfectly with this collection.

I chose one of the great stripey papers for the background of Alarik's page and added the Winter Wonderland chipboard title, the top border sticker, deer and snowflake stickers.

Gavin's Football 2016

This paper and stickers came from a kit by The Paper Studio that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.  More pennants and arrows adorn this page- can't get enough of those lately!

Scott Halloween 2016

The last of the 2016 Halloween pages are in the books! I made good use of a DCWV pre-printed background for this quick page. All I did was mat my two photos on a coordinating pattern, add one sticker from the Carta Bella "Happy Haunting" sheet and journaled directly onto the background. Done!

Caden's Football 2016

The big football that I used on this spread was actually one big football that I cut in half so I could put half on each page.  The football "paper" is by American Crafts.  I had a bunch of far away shots that I was able to use a square punch on to cut out just Caden and added those in a row under the title.  My title letters are from my DCWV alpha punch out stack.  The football background paper came from a page kit by The Paper Studio.

Bekah Halloween 2016

I pulled out the trust ol' DCWV stack to find the background paper for Bekah's Halloween 2016 page. Embellishments are from Chic Tags and Carta Bella "Happy Haunting". I journaled about how Bekah created this year's costume using last year's. She is so creative and talented!

Fall Fest 2016

Supplies:
Background paper- WJB Collection from The Paper Studio
Cork letters- Recollections
Happy fall sign- Echo Park Fall is in the Air

The leaf cut outs that I scattered over the spread are some oldies!  Some of the first scrapping supplies I got I would say.  I am surprised that I have held on to them this long as I like to pilfer my supplies regularly so that I can buy new ones:)

Specs

I passed my poor vision on and this page tells the story of Scott having to get his first pair of glasses.
Papers, journaling block and embellishments are from the Crate Paper Cool Kid Collection.  I am really digging this collection and, though it is boy-themed, I've even used it for a page for Bekah already.  This will be another one of those collections that I save and use every scrap of. :)
I am not happy with the coloring of my top two photos. I have already played around with making adjustments and will re-order prints with my next order. If they turn out better, I will replace these two with better ones. I also want to switch them around and put the happier looking one on the right as it supports the story that he was not happy with the glasses right away, but they grew on him.

Junking

A junking day with my hubby:)
I used a piece of travel themed paper to make accents for this spread.  The paper is Simple Stories Urban Traveler.  I used it to make the pennants, to mat a photo and a simple accent square to go between my journaling pieces.  You can get a lot of mileage out of one cool piece of patterned paper! The journaling pieces are 9 to 5 journal cards from October Afternoon.  I thought they fit in nicely since they are retro themed.  My "junking" title is made from chalkboard alpha stickers from The Paper Studio.

Scott Fall Fest 2016

Scott's Fall Fest 2016 page is put together on this great plaid paper from Oriental Trading Company. OTC is the very first place I ever ordered scrapbooking supplies from. I ordered several times in the early years of my scrapbooking, then forgot all about it for years. While looking for a place to purchase good Kraft paper larger packs, I ended up at the OTC site and discovered some fun things so I will definitely be checking back there!

The stickers I used on this page are from Echo Park Reflections Fall 12x12 cardstock sticker sheet and I used a tag from Chic Tags for my date.

Big Lake Big Fun

This spread captures the memories of a Labor Day Weekend spent on the North Shore of Lake Superior- our favorite destination.

This page used very minimal supplies!
Background paper- WJB Collection by The Paper Studio
Title letters- DCWV punch out alphas

I put my photos in groups and rounded all the outside corners.  The smaller group of photos is a print of a collage that I posted on Instagram.  I ordered a 4x4 print of it from Snapfish and had a nice collage pic for my page.  I added detail to my title letters with a Sharpie once again on this page- it's becoming one of my favorite techniques!

Bekah's First Deer

After completing hunter safety earlier in the fall, Bekah was especially excited about deer season in November and then she bagged her very first deer!  I made this page for her with papers from the Jen Hadfield Warm & Cozy 6x6 paper pad. I used the target paper to anchor my title and a bit of the journaling. I used the scraps from the top of each 6x6 sheet (that little strip that's left after you cut off the circle) to add some more layering under my bottom photo.
This is one of those pages that I should have had either Bekah or Jesse write the journaling for. When Jesse was oohing and aaahing over the latest batch of pages I made, including this one, he informed me that I had some of the details of the hunt wrong.  Next time he'll just have to help me out!

Ely Anniversary Weekend

My hubby and I celebrated our 19th anniversary in 2016 and celebrated with a weekend away.

Background paper- Fall basic assortment from Oriental Trading
Plaid paper- WJB Collection by The Paper Studio
Title numbers &  large Letters- The Paper Studio Mixed Media
Small title letters- Target $ Spot

I added lots of texture and detail to this spread by paper tearing and with Sharpie details added to my big title letters & numbers.

Alarik Halloween 2016

For Alarik's Halloween page, I copied a technique I had just watched Steph use on one of her pages. I traced a big kitchen bowl on black cardstock to make my circle, then pasted my grid of photos onto it, trimming off the parts that hung over.  I adhered the whole thing to this cool spider-web patterned paper, finishing it off with just a few stickers and my journaling printed on white cardstock strips.

Yurt 2016

Once again my background paper is from the WJB Collection Stack from the The Paper Studio.  I LOVE my title on this page!  The big craft letters are from Hobby Lobby and by The Paper Studio. I matted them on blue paper and Ang game me the idea of using a Sharpie to make them look like the inside walls of the yurt.  I also added some interest to the title area by cutting the serpent out of the picture.  It is hard to see but I used my alphabet punches to punch the name of the lake into the picture on the right hand page.
