We are Steph and Angie - sisters who love to scrapbook. We don't know design, we aren't color experts and we usually only get to scrapbook a few times a year. But, we love our families and scrapbooking our memories with them so here we are!

We'll try not to bog you down with long supply lists and explanations (half the time we can't remember what we used or it's such old stuff that you'd never find it anywhere anyway!)

Please feel free to "scrap-lift" any of our ideas that strike your fancy, and if you are a scrapbooker with your own blog, please link back to us!

Scott Fishing

I just love the combination of this shade of navy and the darker red plaid paper.  One of my favorite ways to make a page look just a little more "put together" is to round corners.  I did this on my background piece, photos and journaling block.  I also added some simple doodles to the corners of the journaling block that mimic the pattern of the plaid paper.

DARE Twins Game Trip

The 5th Graders in Bigfork go through the D.A.R.E. program to learn about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and other risky behaviors.  At the end of the year, they get to take a bus down to the Twin Cities and watch a MN Twins game.  I had no interested in chaperoning a bus full of 5th graders on a 4.5 hour trek to a baseball game and back.  So Dad stepped up to the plate and went along.

You can see Caden's page from his trip two years ago here.

I stamped my title with some fun and funky alpha stamps.  I need to use these more often.  They could fit on almost any kid page and you never run out of Es when you're stamping!
Yes, that is indeed a blank journaling block on the page.  I plan to have either Jesse, Bekah or both jot down the journaling for me.  It's always fun to get a new perspective instead of just mine all the time.  Plus, I already blogged about it on my personal blog so my version of the story is recorded there.

Scott Camping 2016

This woodgrain paper is from the DCWV The Basics Stack and I thought it worked well for a camping page.  I chose green, blue and cream cardstock for my photo mats and journaling area to stick to earth tones.  The camping themed stickers are some seriously old ones that I've had around here forever.  Remember I buy too many camping stickers and then never use them?  Well, this last scrapping day I did pretty well getting some of them on pages.

Easter 2016

Yes, I am following up a Halloween page post with an Easter one.  Though I'm totally anal about having my pages in my albums in chronological order, I am apparently not so when it comes to posting them.  :)
Patterned papers are from DCWV Stack 8 and rub on alphas are by Making Memories.

Bekah Halloween 2015

This background paper is one I would normally never use because of its busyness, but it fit well with these pictures of Bekah in her 2015 Halloween costume and left me with little work to do to finish the page.

Just a Trim

I had a lot of fun working with this kit from Echo Park called That's My Boy which I found on a recent trip to Hobby Lobby.  The bright colors, accents and alphas are so fun!  This is the second page I created with the kit.  The first was Scott's underwear page here.
There will be a follow-up page to this one!  Scott never wants his hair cut and would prefer it long if we would let him have it that way.  We decided he could go all summer letting it grow but that he had to get it cut before school.  So this page shows the last haircut he had and it's gotten SO long and shaggy over the summer.  I can't wait to do a before and after page of his back-to-school cut!

Girls and Underwear

Here's Bekah's version of the underwear page. (See Scott's here.)  I used the My Mind's Eye Kraft Fun Day collection again for this one.  This is a collection from which I save all but the most miniscule scraps and this page used many of those scraps, along with several of the chipboard embellishments.  The text "times were had by" on the pennant was printed in white and couldn't be read at all.  I went over them with a fine-tipped permanent marker to fix that.

Mud Kitchen

The My Mind's Eye Kraft Fun Day collection is one of my all-time favorites and I continue to pull it out and use it again and again.  I thought it was perfect for these early spring photos of Bekah in our much-loved mud kitchen.
I added the short title of "mud" to the background page and it fits in so seamlessly that you'd think it was part of the printed page.  I used a few of the chipboard accents from the collection to embellish my photo cluster and then wrote my journaling directly onto the background.

Alarik's 5th Birthday

Other than my 12x12 background paper (from (surprise) DCWV Stack 8) all the papers on this page are from my scraps bin.  I used blue and yellow as the main pieces, pulling from Alarik's outfit colors, then added other bright, primary colors.  I matted each of the three birthday stickers on colored cardstock.  I used the technique again of embellishing my title piece, which in this case is just a big number 5.  I polka-dotted it with a sharpie to mimic the polka dots of my pattered background piece.  And on this page I finally did a good bit of journaling.  That's something I'm constantly working on.

Bekah Sews - embellishing title letters

I don't know why I thought paper-ripping went with sewing photos, but it seemed to fit so I did some rippin'!  I chose three different patterned papers that reminded me of prints you might see on quilting fabrics.  The sewing-themed stickers are from Hobby Lobby.  I made my kraft alpha sticker title a little more interesting, and made it fit my page theme, by hand drawing little "stitches" around the edge of each letter.

Scott Fall Fest 2015

This wide burlap ribbon was a Hobby Lobby find.  There are two pieces of it layered underneath my cream colored cardstock.  I grouped my photos and added a few embellishments to finish off the page.

A New Scraps Organizer

I've always just thrown my paper scraps into this big chipboard box.  The box was getting rather tattered and, while I am pretty good about remembering to use up scraps, it was a pain to dig through the whole pile every time I needed a square of paper for a journaling block or photo mat.

Inspired by Steph's scrap organization, I ordered this guy from Amazon.  I labeled one tab with each color and added a tab for camping/outdoor paper scraps since I tend to have a lot of those.

And then I dumped out the big old box of scraps on my kitchen table and started sorting!

From bulky, unorganized box to sleek, color-coded, zippered folder...ahhhh!  Now I should be even better about using up my scraps.

Alarik's Fishing Page

For Alarik's fishing page, I went with the name of the lake we were fishing at as the title.  I layered two different shades of green cardstock to create the background.  This is a good way to use up some of those less-than-desirable shades that always come in the big cardstock paper packs.  Both of the brown papers that I used for photo mats and to back my title are from DCWV Stack 8.  My stickers are from Hobby Lobby and the foam alpha stickers in my title are from a local dollar store.

Shootin' Hoops

Here's another basketball page embellished by stuff from Steph's stash.  Thanks again, Steph!

Trick or Treat, Scott

This should look pretty similar to you if you saw my last post.  I used  cardstock stickers from the same 12x12 sheet of Carta Bella's Happy Haunting collection.
