We are Steph and Angie - sisters who love to scrapbook. We don't know design, we aren't color experts and we usually only get to scrapbook a few times a year. But, we love our families and scrapbooking our memories with them so here we are!

We'll try not to bog you down with long supply lists and explanations (half the time we can't remember what we used or it's such old stuff that you'd never find it anywhere anyway!)

Please feel free to "scrap-lift" any of our ideas that strike your fancy, and if you are a scrapbooker with your own blog, please link back to us!

Day at the Zoo

A trip to the zoo is one of those things that it's really fun to have themed papers for when you scrap.  Several months ago I was the lucky winner of a scrapbook.com gift certificate over at Cindy DeRosier's blog and I used it to buy, among other things, the Echo Park Mini Themes "Day at the Zoo" collection.  It came with six sheets of double-sided papers and a sheet of stickers.  I made all three of my kids a two-page layout and had supplies left to spare.

Gavin's Football 2014

I tore the corners off a football print 12x12 paper and matted it on a grey piece of background paper to add a little texture to the left hand page.  The "Bombers" title is stamped onto squares of paper that I cut.  Bombers is what jr high football is called in our area, not sure if that is just a northern MN thing or if it is more universal??

Moms & Kids 2014 - Scott

The last of the Mom's & Kids camping pages from 2014. Whew...sometimes scrapping albums for three kids at a time gets overwhelming and, dare I say, tedious!  For this page I started with a great plaid paper from the D.C.W.V. The Basics Stack.  I matted everything on grey cardstock, including my title which is made from Paper Studio alpha stickers.  Again, I made a camping page without putting much of a dent in my camping sticker collection, just added a few leaves from a really old sheet of stickers that I can't remember the brand or where I got them.

Camp Hiawatha - Scott

Scott spent one day at Camp Hiawatha again last summer.  He didn't have that great of a time when he went in 2013 because he was one of only a couple boys there for the day, both of whom left early so he was left with all girls! It's important to Jesse and I that the kids have a great Bible camp experience so this time around we gathered up a couple of his little buddies to go with him to ensure a good time.  It was a success!  On this layout I used Jim Holtz idea-ology alpha tiles for the title and just a few stickers from The Great Outdoors collection by Echo Park.

Back 2 School Cut

Talk about a work out for the clippers!  Last summer my then 12 year old decided to let his hair grow all summer and it turned into this wonderful, thick, curly mess!  The start of football required a cooler cut that a helmet would fit over!

Scott's 8th Birthday

Scott's 8th birthday page is just cardstock and some birthday themed stickers by Jolee's Boutique - the same stickers used on Alarik's 3rd birthday page. I told you, I got a LOT of extended use out of my scrap pile during our last scrap session!  I used another of the ArtSkills numbers for the big part of my title.  I know I've complained about this before, but it is so annoying to me that the scanner cuts off that .3 inches on the side.  If the pane of glass is that big, why can't it scan the whole darn thing???  I've tried photographing layouts a couple of times and don't get good results so I will just have to live with the cropped scans I guess.  *sigh*

Mile Slide

Not much to this simple layout!  The background paper is from the Proud to Serve Stack from The Paper Studio.  The title, I pieced together from a couple of different alpha options that I have had so long I couldn't tell you the brand or where they came from- no original packaging!  Since Caden had to go down the slide 48 times to slide a mile I used a chalkboard label and wrote the 48 on with a chalk marker.

Camp Hiawatha 2014

I picked out a set of Reminisce brand summer camp themed stickers for Bekah's page about her week at Camp Hiawatha in 2014.  As my journaling notes (go me, again!), she had a bit of a rough start to her week.  In fact, she mailed home a letter begging us to come and get her!  She did end up sticking it out for the week and had a wonderful time.  I had intended to make a pocket on the page to hold the letter, which of course I saved.  I forgot to do that though.  :(  My solution is to create a pocket on the back of the right hand page before I put it in Bekah's album.  Then I can mat the letter to give it some sturdiness and slip it into the pocket which will be hidden between that page and the next one in her album.  I'll put a pull tab on it so it doesn't get lost and forgotten.

It was around 20 below the day I scrapped this page so I thoroughly enjoyed the bright, sunny photos - a little escape from the long cold MN winter we are having!

Moms and Kids Camping 2014 - Bekah

I have so many camping-themed stickers and embellishments (they are among my favorite supplies to buy) but don't ask me why I didn't use any of them on Bekah's page about our annual Moms & Kids camping trip!  Well, I guess I did use one - the Gone Camping sticker is from Echo Park's The Great Outdoors collection.  The polka dot paper is from the D.C.W.V. The Basics Stack and my title letters are Colorbok brand.  I like the girly colors and feel of this page.  Again, I thought it was obvious that this is a page about a camping trip, but I did a little journaling anyway...go me!  :)

We finally bought the house that we have been renting for 7 years!  My sister snapped these pics for us for our Christmas card last year and they make a good scrap book page too!

Banning State Park

One of the things I focused on during our last scrapping session was journaling. I am not good at journaling.  I don't like my handwriting, I don't like my "voice" when I write.  I feel like my style of writing takes away from the story the photos tell.  BUT, when looking back through all the albums I've made, I find myself wishing there was more journaling.  At the time I am making a page, the story seems obvious.  We camped, or it was the first day of school, or Halloween or whatever the case may be.  But it's hard to remember the details as time goes on so I told myself I would work on that.  I don't think I'll ever be a long-winded story-teller, but I managed to write at least something on the majority of the pages I made that weekend.

Here's an example.  I made a page for each kid of photos taken during a quick stop at Banning State Park.  Pretty obvious what we were doing, right?  But I added a journaling block to each page to give a little more detail.

Supplies used on Bekah's page:
OLD alpha stickers, I believe from Oriental Trading Co?
Echo Park The Great Outdoors paper (tree, footprint and "take a hike" embellishments cut from that)

Supplies used on Alarik's page:
Colorbok Mega Limbo Black alpha stickers
K & Company Life's Little Occasions Camping Sticker Medley
Echo Park The Great Outdoors plaid paper
Supplies used on Scott's page:
WeRMemory Keepers Happy campers paper
Reminisce Genuine Boy alpha stickers
Echo Park The Great Outdoors stickers (paw prints and compass)
Me & My Big Ideas camping stickers (take a hike)

Gavin @ 13

I am making it a scrap goal of mine to do more "everyday pages"  and not just big events and holidays!  I had a couple pics that I liked of my 13 year old and since 7th graders are "high schoolers" where we live I thought it was a good thing to scrap and journal about all the changes that 7th grade has brought.

papers- Proud to Serve stack by The Paper Studio
the title numbers are by Artskills- I "borrowed" these from my sister and she got them in the school supply section at Target.  She is really good at finding scrapping supplies that aren't really scrapping supplies!
the alpha stickers that I used to spell out teenager are from two different sets- one by Studio 112 and the other by The Paper Studio.

Moms and Kids Camping 2014 - Alarik

The only supplies I can list for you on this page are the title letters which are Fancy Pants Design's "Baby Mine".  The patterned papers came from a friend's scrapbook stash.  This friend had dabbled in scrapbooking for years, decided she didn't want to do it, had me and Steph make one album for her, loved the album and decided she should keep her supplies that we didn't use up because maybe she'd take scrapbooking back up, then finally decided she wasn't doing it, for good.  So she brought her stash of supplies to our last scrapbooking weekend (she's invited even though she doesn't scrap) and I used a TON of stuff from it, including the patterned papers on these pages.  I think they are some pretty old designs.  The page with the sun had an ocean beach scene along the bottom which didn't fit my Minnesota lake photos so I just covered that part up with the cute flip-flop paper.
