We are Steph and Angie - sisters who love to scrapbook. We don't know design, we aren't color experts and we usually only get to scrapbook a few times a year. But, we love our families and scrapbooking our memories with them so here we are!

We'll try not to bog you down with long supply lists and explanations (half the time we can't remember what we used or it's such old stuff that you'd never find it anywhere anyway!)

Please feel free to "scrap-lift" any of our ideas that strike your fancy, and if you are a scrapbooker with your own blog, please link back to us!

My Mind's Eye Cards

Here are a few more cards I made using the same old kit by My Mind's Eye that I've made several other cards from.

Thursday, August 29, 2013

You might recognize these papers from my last couple batches of page posts!  :)  I tend to get overwhelmed by saving all my scraps so I periodically just pitch them all.  I find that after a scrapping session it's easy to throw together a few cards because all your scraps are already coordinated.  A little plain cardstock, a little layering, a little ripping and VOILA! a nice stack of cards, lickety-split!

FALL for Bekah

Supplies Used:
background paper by Recollections "Great Outdoors"
brown cardstock
large corrugated letter from JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts

I had three great photos of Bekah from last fall that didn't fit in with any other pages I was making, but I couldn't bear to not use them.  I trimmed them up and they fit quite nicely across this cute paper.

Bentleyville 2012

Background paper and snowflake paper- S.e.i. Kris Kringle Stack
Chipboard letters- K & Company
Red paper used for mats- My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 12 Days of Christmas Stack

I usually don't run my titles and picture mats across my two pages but when these two pages are put together I think it looks just fine.   If I find just the right snowflake embellishments for this page I think I need to add them to finish it off nicely- it could use just a little touch of something I think:)

Bekah Halloween 2012

Here's what makes up this page:
My Minds Eye "Haunted" collection "Small Chandeliers" paper and accessories
black cardstock
pirate ribbon

This was one of those sheets of paper that comes in a collection pack and you think right away, "I'll never be able to use that.  It's ugly."  But it was just perfect for this page where the photo has been converted to black and white.

Caden's "At the Ocean"

Surf Car paper- Beach Bum by Fancy Pants Design
12 x 12 Craft paper- Oriental Trading
Punch out alphas- DCWV

Just like on Jade's ocean page I used my stencil set from Oriental Trading to make the "O" for ocean.  I used a "crazy" corner punch on all my pics and journaling area on the right hand page and I really like how it looks against the bright colored photo mats.  This is the first time I have used anything other than a plain corner rounder.  Think I will be using it again!

Wintry Woods, girl version

Bekah's Wintry Woods page used:
printed papers from the D.C.W.V. Christmas Stack
green cardstock photo mats
idea-ology alpha tiles
Jolee's Boutique "Woodland Critters w/ Santa Gear" stickers

I found a nice, woodsy brown patterned paper but didn't care for the design that ran along the bottom third of the page.  I fixed that right up by cutting a strip of red polka dot print paper from the same paper stack and layering it over the part I didn't like.  I left the off-white scallops showing and I think it made a right nice background for my wintry, woodsy photos of Bekah!

Gavin & Caden's Goonies Pages

Pirate paper- The Paper Studio
Skull ribbon- Celebrate It from Michaels
Red, black and white title letters- Miss Elizabeth's
Bone Letters- Recollections
Pirate stickers- Sandy Lion (two different styles- one on each page)

Besides the sticker and ribbon embellishments on these pages I made color copies of some souvenirs that we had picked up on our trip.  I printed them out on heavier cardstock and cut them out by hand.  This is a good way to add things to a page that would normally be too bulky,  like the coin.

Birds of a Feather

I used:
background paper from D.C.W.V. Christmas Stack
photo mats cut from another D.C.W.V. Christmas Stack page (coordinating colors)
rub on alphas found at a dollar store

The background for this page worked so perfectly that I didn't really have to add much.

Caden's Vikings Page

Supplies: Football background paper by The Paper Studio

I used the same technique of ripping the football paper and piecing it back together as on Gavin's Vikings Page.

Scott Christmas 2012

What I used:
black cardstock background (12x12)
red cardstock photo mats
striped paper from S.E.I.'s Kris Kringle collection
nativity scene stickers from Me & My Big Ideas
silver marker

I'm really into black backgrounds right now because they just look so good!  And a silver pen is just the handy tool to add your journaling directly to the background.

Gavin's Vikings Page

Supplies: Football background paper by The Paper Studio

I ripped the football paper and pieced it back together on a plain piece of yellow background paper.  I cut  Gavin out of one picture that had a very busy background full of strangers sitting next to us.  The speech bubble was made using a cool stencil that I received second hand that has several different journaling stencils on it.  Straight lines!!  A big plus since my writing always tends to go uphill if I don't have lines to follow!

Scott's Halloween 2012

Supplies used:
Halloween patterned paper found in the Target $ Spot
orange, black and charcoal cardstock
"BOO!" embellishment from the "Spiders" page of the Blackbird collection by My Mind's Eye
silver marker

The cobwebs on the one picture were created using picmonkey.com.

Jade's "At the Ocean"

Background paper- Beach Babe collection by Fancy Pants Design
Crab and starfish stickers by K & Company
Punch out alphas by DCWV

I used a letter stencil set that I got from Oriental Trading to make the big "O" for Ocean:)  The letter "O" is covering up a part of the photo that had Jade's brothers in it.  I think it was a good thing to simplify the photo by covering them up and making Jade the focus.  She agreed, haha:)  I triple matted my favorite photo to make it stand out.  Is there such thing as matting a photo too many times??
